CNC Textures
Hallo
here my first fabmoment feat. ShopbotPRS
The goal was to incrave different textures into a softwood. Here I used Plataan which fairly soft but in future I will create more samples with Oak and other hardwoods.
The fiels got prepaired in Rhino and exportet in stl.
Since this was a one sidet test we fixed the wood with 4 screws into the cnc table.

We rough milled the the first path with 3mm flatend mill and went then down to a 1/64inch flatend mill to do the finishing.
Speed for the final mill was 19.5/ 10. I was preatty scared to break the bit I kept it low. Also by higher speed you could notice that the cnc engines needed to stop too rapedly to the mashine got shaky. Which ended in less precise milling path.
Also after the switch to the smaller mill, it was quite tricky to position it exactly on the same spot like the rough mill before. So one of the tests showed therfore some lines from the rough path.
All test took between 10min-45min for the roughing and 1h15-1h35m finishing.
In total 5 tests
enjoy
