The making of the factory
The body of the object is made of 18 and 6 mm birch wood, so it would be more robust than the first prototype. All the parts have been milled out on the shopbot, and the engravings have been done with the lasercutter afterwards. For the assembly of the little ‘machine like’ blocks the edges have been made in 45 degree angles with the belt saw. The wheels, the big button and the stethoscope have been cut out of 3 mm perspex sheets and glued together. The electronics are placed in the ‘floor’ of the factory and the compartment at the back, which also functions as a storage and charging point for the blocks.
