Case 2: Personal Space (Couch, TV, and pillow)

Keywords: social space, openDI, personal space
interaction

This project aims two
main key ideas; 1) to engage different individuals with no social connection to
initiate interaction and 2) personalized environment /space.

Technology

Personalized environment
from the individual profiles, audio-video retrieval, social website (related
social interest and information)

Devices

Videos, barcode, couch, pillows,
TV, camera, and affective sensors.

Scenarios

When the individuals with
the barcode (social tag device) within the proximity of the sensors, then
system it will retrieve related contents based from the individuals social
space information from the internet (Web 2.0, OpenID, and social sites contain
individuals’ profiles). For example, related (and nice) videos will be
retrieved based on that personal information. Personalized audio (for the
individual) and personalized video (for the common usage) can be used as main
examples from this process of interaction. Using this information as well,
individuals are able to control channels selection according to their own
interest (TV) and audio / actuators reflect (couch)

Case 3: Space and Usability

Keywords: social tags,
universal interactive device,

This project aims to
develop a universal interactive device that capable to explore space using
active objects. These objects are equipped with tags, and user will be to use phone
with camera. Having this, the individuals are able to explore new space, and
potentially discover what is possible to be done in this space.

Devices

Mobile phone with camera,

Case 1: Connected Museum

project:
Fablab Location:

Case 1: Connected Museum

Keywords: painting tagging, interactive gaming,

The idea of this
project is to address human and artifact interaction within different physical
spaces. To allow this interaction to take place, a simple but interactive
gaming process is introduced. In this scenario, there are at least 3
people are involved. The physical locations are; 1) in the museum, 2) in the
house.

Technology

Interaction between
physical spaces to achieve the emerging goals

Devices

Eye-tracking device, interactive
table, server (to store the museum arts collection and profiles), and museum
tag (contains the barcode reader, and OpenID information

Scenario

The person in the museum
will watch the painting. If the person is interested towards a certain painting,
he will choose that painting to be used during the game. In the same time,
there are two individuals are waiting for the related tile(s). These
individuals are playing this in the different locations, and probably have no
idea who is their opponent is. In the museum he/ she will send several tiles
from his/her region of interest from that painting.
At home, both players are receiving these tiles, and trying
to guess tag it.

If any of these players are
unable to answer, they are allowed to ask for a piece of information or clue.
If both tagged it correctly, the person in the museum will be given a
recommendation from the server to see related paintings, based on the correct tagged
tiles. The players who are able to answer those tags correct, and on time will
be receiving scores. Those with a highest score will be the winner.
