On december 9 2010, NL EVD International, The Indonesian Division of Economical Affairs, granted our proposal to establish a new Fab Lab in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. This marked the start of a 3-year international collaboration between Waag Society (NL) and HONF; - House of Natural Fiber (IDN).
Fab Lab embodies an international movement of open innovation, digital production and knowledge exchange. Fablab Yogya will be a new node of knowledge and creativity; in this worldwide network.By introducing open source practices, the aim of Yogya Fablab is to enable local communities to become self-supporting in terms of health care, creativity and entrepreneurship.
