An investigation into open source 3d scanning systems.
The goal is to develop a mobil 3d scanning system to be able to scan limbs in the field, in order to improve the quality of an under knee prosthetic.
Here is a stomp socket made with thermoplast. This is the most important part of the proshtetic, because halv the bodyweight has to be distributed along the lateral side of the stomp.
With a detailed 3d scan, you can apply special treatments of the stomp form digitally on any place on earth, and therefore improve the comfort for the client.
