PCB milled with modela for rapid prototyping
Lately I had to make a assignment for an art project, is a simple electronics that goes inside a package that is made with plastic and melted. The electronics are based in arduino mini, a LCD and formal components.
I thought that was a perfect moment to use rapid prototyping tools to make the PCB where the arduino mini
is embedded, and then I met the Modela milling machine...
All the files are under Public Domain (not the photo).
Schematics and references that I used:
- Dog M display libraries: http://code.google.com/p/doglcd/
- Files in Eagle, http://miguelware.net/file/
* LCD board: sch, brd
* Board to embed Arduino Mini: sch, brd
- The help of all the people around the lab:)
Other tools that I used:
- Linux ubunty OS.
- cad.py script from the center of Bits and Atoms to generate the rml code.
- Gimp work with the png images that takes the cad.py script.
I had some problems with the bed of the Modela that was not regular so I self-aligned a bed of wood.
More info. about me here.
Ciao.
