Laser cutting vinyl

For my friend Martin's birthday I used the laser cutter on an old vinyl 12" he hates.

First I created some text in Illustrator, and made outlines. A lot of cleaning up involved here due to the inner forms of the letters, which would fall out if I didn't attach them on the outer form. For another text I used a font more suitable: House Industry's Warehouse, a font typically used for spraying templates.

Vinyl can also be used for creating smoke screens we discovered, but it is not recommended! :-) Meanwhile I contacted Greenpeace for information onhow toxic vinyl exactly is. When I have some more information on this, I will share it here.

Take a look at the pictures for detailed information on plotting setup. I was quite happy with the end result.

Cheers,

Frank
